This video is about simple,delicious and healthy dish called Vazhaithandu Thogayal | Plantain Stem Chutney . Banana stem is very nutritious and also it’s good remedy for kidney stones . Thogayal is a South Indian chutney prepared using dhal, red chillies and coconut as main ingredients. Whoever don’t like banana stem ,they will have this thogayal .

Banana Stem chopped – 1 1/4 cup
Butter milk with water
For Tempering
Gingelly oil – 2 Tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 Tsp
Urad Dal – 3/4 Tsp
Dry chilli – 1
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
For Thogayal
Gingelly Oil – 2 Tbsp
Ginger – 1.5 inch piece
Green chillies – 6
Sesame seeds – 2 Tsp
Salt – To Taste
Tamarind – gooseberry size
Grated Coconut – 1 cup
Curry leaves – 2 sprigs
Coriander leaves – 3 sprigs
