A popular South Indian side dish or accompaniment that goes well with Dosa and Idli . It is typically prepared with chana dal, urad dal, red chilies, hing and salt. Idli podi is always mixed up with Gingelly oil or Ghee. You can do variation by adding Curry leaves or sesame seeds. The texture should be coarse rather than fine powder.

Channa dal – 1/4 kg
Urad Dal – 1/2 kg
Dry chillies – 125 grams
Hing – 1 peanut size
Oil – 15 ml
Salt – To taste
