This video is about Kongu special Rice and lentil risotto called Arisi Paruppu Sadham. This is one of the variation of one pot cooking style called Kootansoru (கூட்டாஞ்சோறு). The preparation is very simple, quick and at the same time very tasty. It can be served with dry potatoe masalas / papadam / curd or pickles.

Toor Dal – 1/2 cup
Raw rice – 1 cup
Shallots – 8 No’s
Green Chillies – 4 No’s
Gingelly oil – 3 Tbsp
Mustard – 3/4 Tsp
Urad Dal – 1 Tsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 Tsp
Dry Chillies – 2
Hing – 1/4 Tsp
Garlic – 8 pods
Tomatoes – 1
Turmeric – 1/4 Tsp
Salt – To Taste
Water – 4 1/2 cups
